Katherine served as a field radio operator in the United States Marine Corps from 2007 until 2011. While deployed to Iraq in 2009 she served as a combat Lioness. Currently, she is a senior majoring in Communication Science and Disorders, and currently serves as the president of the TU Student Veteran Association at the University of Tulsa and senator in the student government. Katherine’s advocacy efforts led to the establishment of the TU Veteran House on campus and an endowment for student veterans to help cover tuition and housing gaps. In 2017, she was awarded Student Veteran of the Year from SVA and was awarded as a HillVets 100 honoree.
